Reflection on Easter Sunday
The Witnesses to a News that transcends history
My dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ. The Lord is risen. Alleluia, Alleluia.
There are so many news agencies nowadays. Surely, there are all trying their best to give news or information. And we have to command them. Many lose their lives in the process. Like the sad story of Lyra McKee a journalist shot in Northern Ireland on Good Friday. We keep her in our prayers, as well as many others kidnapped and killed doing their job. However, to be frank, the news are often not encouraging. If there are not sad, there are often so much manipulated to favor a few or certain class. They become as someone said “fake news”. There cannot resist the time, they fade and disappear. But their effects are devastating.
Reflection on Palm Sunday year C
The consistent teacher
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today as we are celebrating the triumphant entry of Christ into Jerusalem, I will love us to reflect on the image of the consistent teacher. This is someone who gives knowledge but at the same time strive to apply it himself till the end. Our Lord Jesus Christ has placed the standard so high for us to imitate so much that any other attempt become dim. However, this week amidst the strikes and demonstrations around the world, we witnessed the gesture of humility of Pope Francis in the attempt to bring peace to the people of Soudan. We were all moved by that image of the Pope at the feet of Sudanese leaders’; but not all saw that as a sign of humility. While reading the comments under the pictures, I came across a shoking one: That that was a false humility.
5th Sunday of Lent year C
God is great than our sins and understanding
My dear brothers and sisters, the readings of this week remind us that God is greater than our sins and understanding. It is so easy to blame people, to pass a judgement and destroy. We have become experts of justice with so many laws and rules in the society. Supreme Court and Justice, various tribunals of so great importance, national or international to render justice. And most time the result is to condemned the weak because the strong are often right. They have lawyers, the experts, they know how to manipulate and win.
A Reflection on 4th Sunday of Lent year C
My dear brothers and sisters today, the readings invite us to reflect on the theme of reconciliation and new beginning.
Reconciliation is a necessity.
The Quest of Freedom is so important for all human persons; indeed, this value is to be respected and granted to all. No one should be a slave of another or live and work under threat and constraint. We all love freedom; however, we have to be prudent not to fall into false freedom.
Homily on the 3rd Sunday of Lent year C
We have a second chance but not for ever.
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, today the readings remind us of the shortness of life. The time we have to live is short; of course life is sweet and good. And again we do not know not only when but also how we are going to end it.
HOMELIE DU 8e DIMANCHE DU TEMPS ORDINAIRE Année C
